Chapter ten
After a Dreamy Interview
Olivia
I barely remembered the Lyft ride back to my hotel.
My thoughts were too busy replaying each moment with the gorgeous tech CEO: laughing at his jokes, getting lost in his golden-brown eyes, wishing I could run my fingers through that flawlessly-mussed hair.
Iâd enjoyed every moment.
Emily hadnât done justice to her descriptions of the CEO. He was even dreamier than sheâd described.
While I talked about my software development skills and ideas, I couldn't help noticing that the eyes of my interviewer followed my hands, nearly burning them with his gaze.
I was slightly aroused.
Okay, I was very aroused.
As Iâd crossed my legs, revealing bits of thigh, the CEO had eyed them.
Normally, my instinct would be to cover up by tugging the hem down, but I resisted the urge, enjoying teasing Mr. Carter.
Heâd played alongâor I think he didâhis eyes darting back and forth between my legs and the lines of code.
As his eyes settled on my face, I would find myself pushing strands of hair behind my ear.
His focus would shift to my ear, and like some sort of laser-eyed superhero, he'd set it ablaze.
Iâd bite my lower lip, rubbing my thighs together in an attempt to suppress my growing arousal.
When heâd look away, I'd feel disappointed. As his hand touched his face in deep thought, I hadnât been able to help wondering how they would feel around my neck, pushing me to the wall, while his other hand would rub against my exposed thigh.
He'd say something completely unprofessional, like, âDo you intend to work in this company by all means, under my close, strictââthen he'd tighten his grip and lean in to whisper in my earâ"Supervision?â
I moaned a little at the thought, but luckily super-sexy CEO hadnât noticed.
I knew if the fantasies continued and my desire grew, he would definitely hear it the next time.
Sexual urges aside, I loved how he paid close attention to what I said, despite the distraction. His questions were respectful, and I could tell he was absorbed in what I had to say.
But that body, though.
I found it hard to believe that he spent most of his time at the billion-dollar company heâd created and somehow managed to maintain that Greek-God physique of his.
I remembered Emily talking about him being down ever since his breakup, but heâd showed no signs of being affected by the weight of a breakup.
Either he was as strong as the magazines depicted him to be, or he was a very good actor, capable of hiding his true feelings.
He definitely hadn't mentioned being Maxim's Sexiest Bachelor of the Yearâthough I started to think that People magazine had grossly overlooked him.
Panty-melting exterior aside, his staggering intellect had impressed me most of all; the way his mind effortlessly kept pace with my coding concepts lit me up from head to toe.
Iâd never imagined finding a prospective boss quite so brilliantâand sexyâlet alone one that showed genuine zeal for my ideas.
*
The ding of the elevator jostled me from my daydreams.
I rode up alone to my tenth-floor room, still chomping my lip and floating somewhere along cloud nine.
